You say you know too many people that work and have worked for Knight. I could say the same for USA Truck. I started my career with USA Truck and spent two years there. While I was there I would talk to drivers from all kinds of other trucking companies. 99% of them said USA was a starter company and to leave after a year. Being that I wanted to give USA the benefit of the doubt, I stayed two years. Should have left after one. I make more money where I am and don't deal with all the drama. USA is a great place for a new driver. If you have more than a year experience and are still there, then you are either a trainer, have had accidents, or are the kind of person not many companies would want to hire. Maybe Knight is the same, maybe most of the mega-carriers are the same, but I doubt that any are worse than USA Truck.

So you shouldn't have anything to worry about when they get bought out.

nope, obviously I don't stay here for the money lol.Could name off a handful of companies where I would get more and the same miles,Poly Trucking being one of them right here in Dallas area where you start out at 48 cents a mile and they run the miles, top notch company with 200-300 trucks.I just happen to like working here and don't sweat things in life that I have no control over

The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Having a CDL insures you have a job regardless of most economic times if you keep it clean. If not knight someone will absorb USA. I don't have faith that USA can get back in the black on its own. Because of Cliff it is beyond repair. So long as someone will loan money though they will stay in business. But at some point the options will be out. The driver with a clean record will always have a job though.

It's sad that some of u guys like J Frog, and retired sarge are so hung up on USA TRUCK, but you have to realize that your company is struggling really, really bad. I've tried to ask you if you heard about my company (Knight Transportation) possibly buying you out from what I heard, and you guys bashed me. But now you see that it's true. You maybe happy for the moment that USA TRUCK MANAGEMENT, and BOARD OF DIRECTORS rejected Knight offer. If you have common sense... you will know that their opinion means nothing to Knight because they're the reason why the company is not progressing fast enough. So Knight cuts out the middle man, and goes straight to the STOCKHOLDERS because they hold the shares that Knight wants. If they don't agree either.... Knight has other ways that it will get to the stock. It wants USA TRUCK really bad I see. I see someone saying that Knight wants to knock out USA TRUCK because of competition. In my opinion... what competition? There's no comparison of the two. (1). Knight is debt free, and has a strong management team. (2). Knight has dry van, refridgerated, intermodal, and other means of business. Then I see you guys bashing Knight because of drivers who currently or used to work for Knight bashing them because they haven't made money or whatever. You will get that about every company in this industry, but let me tell you this. I've been with Knight for 9 years, and talk to drivers that just don't want to work because of a short run, but if you're a real truck driver.. you know that you will usually get a long run after that. If this goes through which I know it will because Knight will not give up on this because they've done this before, you will be way better off than your current situation. You will get daily or weekly pay if you choose to. More home time because we will be large enough to go back to running people in their regions.

Knight isn't a debt free company.

Its apparent Charles that you are not a driver for Knight because of your insider trading knowledge. So why or how would you know how happy your drivers are there? You most likely don't even care. Maybe Knight wants USA so badly because it wants its drivers back that have quit and come to USA. Without drivers, Knight can have all the money and equipment in the world and not be any further ahead.
Someone else said it first, but Knight is just a red Swift.

What I am most curious about is this. Yes its true that Knight could keep buying shares until they own a controlling stake. This could take months at the average volume. I believe if they bought more than 50% they could go in and fire the management pretty much and put the people who will vote in their favor on the board. What I am most curious about is exactly how much would they have to offer shareholders to give up their shares? Whoever is willing to sell around 9 dollars a share will sell over the next week or so since the stock is in the range. If knight wants USA they will need to offer significantly more than what they are offering now.
