They will release earnings sometime next month. Anyone working for USA been told about how the 3rd quarter shaped up? This release will drive shareholders decision I believe.

J frog. I am an employee at Knight. As a matter of fact I am an owner operator. I don't know how to prove it to you that I work here, and has been with Knight for 9 years. I'm starting to think that you are young or maybe a rookie to the trucking industry. For you to believe what some of these drivers post on Knight's forum. How can I be an inside trader if I SAID THAT I HEARD THAT WE MAY BUY USA TRUCK from my dispatcher months ago? Maybe those driver that came from Knight to USA TRUCK got fired for some reason. Hmmmm. I can't see why anybody wants to work for a company that's going broke anyways. Maybe they haven't done their homework on USA TRUCK before going over there. Call us the red SWIFT all day because you don't know the whole story behind that. But I'll tell you. Kevin Knight, and another brother used to work for swift to learn the business. Knight broke away and started their own company, and has been successful ever since. And there was a time where Knight had to loan Swift some money. So there you go. Jtannilo.... Knight said that they are willing to pay more. Did you not read that? I just can't figure out why you guys are so hooked on a company that's going broke or will eventually be brought out? Makes me wonder how your paychecks look every week because the company doesn't have enough money to stay afloat. Sad just sad.

I remember your post and over the past few weeks have talked to other Knight drivers about it. Some didn't know anything and others seemed pretty certain that Knight would buy USA before the end of the year. As for J Frog and RetiredSarge, they don't speak for all USA drivers. Many of us stay here just because we don't like to change jobs but that doesn't mean we're happy with our current management. I have talked to a few USA drivers since the news broke and the majority, unlike J Frog and RetiredSarge, hope that Knight is able to buy us out and take over. I read that Knight's management team is as strong as it's ever been and your post says that as well. USA Truck's is as weak as it's ever been so I'm looking forward to working with you and your management team soon. Safe driving.

Charles, J Frog has 500 posts and RetiredSarge has 475. Don't bother with them. They don't drive for a living, they post for a living. If they got paid by the post then they could finally make some money. Now, get ready, they will respond to this will all kinds of piss and vinegar as well as how they drive 3000 miles every week and make 100 grand a year. Fortunately I won't have to read any of it. Since I know it's coming I won't bother reading this thread again after this post. As I said in the previous post. I look forward to driving with you at Knight.

Thanks. You're the first to come back with a positive reaction. I don't pay J Frog, and Retired sarge too much attention because it seems that they are so into USA that they don't see what's going on. Knight is so smart at what they are doing because they are going around the management, and the board to get this company. If it doesn't work out.. I will be shocked.

Yes they said they would pay a little bit more if they saw the value. Thats a pretty limiting statement. Personally I hope knight does get USA. Go for it. Get the job done. Give the shareholders what they want.

Oh, don't get me wrong. If Red Swift does succeed in buying out USA, I will still be happy. Since Charles made his first comments I have doubled the amount of stock I have in USA and stand to make a very nice profit. I still won't go to work for Knight. I too have talked to many of their drivers and have studied the reviews of the company. Both here on this website and many others. The overall consensus is still the same. Knight is just not the place for a good driver. Too little miles, not enough cpm, travel agents and management that just don't care. They control your every movement.
Id much rather stay with a company that has taken very good care of me and my family for the past 6 years. Not saying its always been great, but we've always worked it out.
If the buyout does go through, I will just take my money and go into business for myself sooner than I had planned.
If it doesn't happen, I still see USA TRUCK as a good investment over the long haul.

If the shareholders hold back on that offer... I'll be shocked. That'll mean that Management at USA has siked them up. But then Knight will just have to buy the stock from the open market.

I believe even most of the office personnel at USA will be able to jump on with other companies rather quickly. With the increase in capacity Knight will need more dispatchers so they might be offered a transfer as well. Knight doesn't have a terminal in or around VB but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't decide to keep it open. They will buy it and just like any company consolidation will occur over time. It will take a good while even after the transaction goes through.

Make up your mind. Are you an employee or an owner operator? Owner operators are not employees, they are independent contractors leased to a company that finds them freight for a very large portion of the profit.
