Knight Transportation.............Can't Do it.....

I am backing out of a Pre-Hire drug test for the first time tomorrow. I will reimburse the guy 50% of the cost. He 'bait-and-switched' me about team driving. The original route was to have me in my own bed four times per week. As I cannot sleep in a moving truck, the longest I would go without good REM sleep is 48 hours. The switch route is one where I have already 'been-there-done-that' team driving, so, no go.

The count currently is one drug test for each of two schools, and two for job prospects. Four total since December, or more than once per month.

 

Well, the clock strikes 11:00 am and the Schneider Recruiter did not call me as promised at 10:00am--why am I not surprised....same as it ever was with the pumpkin. Hence, there is no longer any mega-carrier I will work for. Or, to be hypocritical, I now put Knight ahead of Schneider if I ever decide to get castrated working for a mega-carrier.

Also, I read just before posting this comment that Schneider requires 'double clutching'. So, to go along with never getting a hold of a person with hiring authority, 60 mph governed trucks, bad reviews of Schneider by my trucking school classmates, and now double-clutching, I think I would prefer three months at Squire and then just sedate myself for the remaining three months at Knight and then hope I live to tell about it and that six months would be enough to land a non-mega-carrier gig.

No, I have not applied at Prime.

I cannot remember if it was PAM or Prime, but anyway, one thread on TTR claimed that "P" drivers were always tying to sell him clothing or equipment so that they could get something to eat.

I am going on a 'week tryout' with a container company VERY close to my residence. I will be paid nothing, but since I will not burn more than two gallons of gas in my gas guzzler commuting to work, I am not worried about it.

No 'week long orientations' and 'two -four weeks teaming training' and 'waiting on a truck' and the like with a mega-carrier. The dispatcher assured me that there would be ample 27-40' containers so that I would need to be hauling 53-footers in the city which is a very nice gesture by him to be sure.
