Looking to go to either Knight or Prime trucking course after I get out of the Army. I have 9 months left on my contract then want to start a career in the trucking industry. I know its not gonna make me rich nor going to have me home alot but its something I want to do. Does anyone have any advice for eithe of these two places or even a different class that may be better? Thanks in advance

Use your GI bill to pay for vocational training. That way, you're not bound to a company for a year or longer. If you look through the various topics on this forum, you'll see plenty of unpleasant things said about both companies, and, while truck drivers can be some whiny prima donnas, I don't doubt there is at least some substantial amount of legitimacy to those claims. Get your CDL independently of those companies, and they won't have the ball and chain around your ankles.
Examine all options... anything in particular draw you to those two companies?
And prepare yourself... you've done your time in uniform, but you'll be the cherry Private all over again in this industry. It can be a bit of a hard pill to swallow... believe me, I've been there.

Will you be living in New Mexico as a civilian?
If so, then go to a private or community college CDL school that's at least 160 hrs.
Lots of mining and tanker work in New Mexico.
Finish school with the CDL and tanker/hazmat, TWIC and probably land an excellent paying tanker job.

Definitely pursue private school to attain your CDL. Sell a family member if needed.

Many better options available once you have done so.
