If he plans on not reporting it I suppose he could just plead ignorance if he gets reported. Unless of course he got out and started walking around inspecting the damage, then the camera footage would be obvious. If he hit it and just kept going he could just say he didn't know lol. Of course, you should report it though.

Guess your screen name kind of fits, lol.Does'nt sound like too big of a deal.I think Prime will clarify this as a preventable Doubt you'll get fired but keep in mind it does go on your record, don't let dings accumulate and you'll be fine.

You guys are simultaneously ######## and hilarious. Thanks for the info. It was in a really strange curve. The owner of the business even said it's happened before. I was just in a hurry because I really had to pee and was trying to park. Really hoping I don't get fired or put back with a trainer. I love my truck.

So how does that work if they pay a claim for the fence? What is his liability in a case like this? Do they make him pay some, all or none of the claim? Just curious.

    "Very cheap to fix"

Yes - but after replacing the odd corner post in my time, I can't say that the guy digging it in will be praising your name . . . !

I wouldn't worry about it but you might want to check your DAC if they find out about it first.
"I didn't know" isn't going to fly, like shooting yourself in the foot. There are no G.O.A.L stickers on the mirrors so they expect more.

I've only heard of them charging the driver when the have a hard time learning the third, fourth time or sth.

Time to change your handle to 'run_it_over'.

OP, I'm'a tell you a story and hopefully cheer you up.

I'd been out of training and solo for all of a week. I was as green as it gets. I was home for the weekend with a short run to start the week delivering on Monday. I decided to spend the night at home instead of heading to the truck, hooking my load, and staging up for an early morning delivery. Of course a dude I hadn't seen in years was in town and out of no where decides to stop by for a visit. I couldn't just tell him I had to work so we stay up half the night catching up. Mistake #1.

Somehow in my dopey, miniscule brain I'd managed to confuse myself and trip planned at 100 mph. 150 miles = 1.5 hours drive time! hurr durr. Mistake #2.

So there I was, rolling on 2 hours of sleep and, as I realized when I got to the truck, going to be several hours late for my appt. GPS was still in it's infancy and routing software specifically for heavy trucks didn't exist. I had only suspect QC directions and my Rand Mcnally. Of course I got lost.

So a green driver with no sleep and running way behind schedule is trying desperately to find a place to turn around. I saw a church parking lot. It was plenty big enough but I forgot one thing; my mirrors. Cut the driveway too short and the next thing I know, something is resisting the truck's forward momentum. I ran that church's sign ovah! Sucker was concreted into the ground and I pulled it right up with my trailer tandems. About $1500 in damage all told. None to the trailer thankfully.

    Algebra time. M1 + M2 = M3.

The police were there. The church's pastor and deacon were there. I was serenaded by the air horns of several passing truckers belly laughing at my sorry butt. I was humiliated. I wanted to quit and live out the rest of my days in a hobbit hole. I arrived for my 0800 appt. at 1500. Instead of emptying out and hammering to FL on a nice long run, I got to head back to the yard for a face to face scolding and some more training. Fortunately I kept my job.

That was over 11 years ago now but that day still hangs fresh in my mind. It was the single biggest learning mistake I've ever made in this industry. I never get in to too big a hurry and I always sweep my mirrors while turning - even into giant sized TS driveways. Never forget your mirrors.

There you have it, OP. At least you didn't wipe out a church sign!

I think you'll be a-ok....unless that firing squad finds you out.

All b.s. aside, two week driving schools just don't cut it.

Posting that in a thread about Prime kinda implies that Prime only trains for two weeks. Not so.

Although some people can only listen for two weeks. :)
