It is your truck. You choose the loads from the board. The loads were identified by type of vehicle needed.

They have loads but the question is do you have planty money in your saving and credit card or even 401 k to pay their agents because you will make no money at landstar. So yes, they will hire you with not many question ask,go for it.I just quit.Landstar hire few thousands drivers each year and most of them will quit sooner than later. So called freedom?Yes is true, you ar free to go any place the load is gooing and you are free to go home any time you chose but the question is...can you aford it? Working under 50cpm in average per week after fuel, tolls and offcourse planty empty unpaid miles? My advice, stay far away from landstar.Landstar its a company build from 3 parts..office....agents....drivers and the bad part is agents are not landstar employees,so they don't care about you or anybody else. They care about posting free, underpaid loads or pays something but not for you to be able to survive.Landstar its a gamble co not a real one.Maybe was .

I don't think they have much team freight. I been here for 5 years and often look at the team freight because the freight is just so slow and cheap. I would think long and hard about coming to landstar. We are barley making it and we been here long enough to run the system.

    the long haul,

you would better off on your own rather than leasing on to landstar. landstar takes a portion out for their profit, plus you get your share and the brokers get their share. with this economy your better off going from dry van to reefer (if you havent already) and doing it solo. dry van ain't doin too well but reefer loads are doing better. in the end, everyones hurting and being in fl makes us hurt more, but we can't sit down and not make money.

We are a team on with Landstar. We are making half the amount of money than we did last year ...with another company. You may try to have some loads delivered early to get the next load. We are running harder for less. Some of this is the economy! It is about working the system...takes away from driving...we spend lots of time doing research and calling agents. It is like a sales job!!

Teams are making good money. Especially if you get on the AA&E loads.

I would like to know more info, about teams... I have read all I can on the website and it states nothing about teams. I have talked to a few drivers out on the road and they all said that the company side has teams but they didn't know about BCO's.. I am going to get my own truck and my wife is taking her CDL test Monday.. We ARE going to drive Team but want more freedom in about a year. I can not stand Forced anything so we are trying to find a company that treats team O/O's descent and is mainly, if not all O/O's...
