I am sure they have access to loads that pay really well. The loads I end up calling on are no doubt loads that most of their drivers dont want because the rate is so low. Thats my opinion anyway. The drivers I meet are probably taking one for the team when we are on the same load.
How ever the one thing I do notice is, more often than not,.. when you talk with Landstar drivers,.. they have more negatives than positives when describing Landstar. But I guess thats truckers in a nutshell. We always have something to gripe about.

A guy I know was leased on to his uncles numbers, giving up 25%, and running primarily LS freight - and going broke in the process. He's been with LS now for 6 weeks, and doing a lot better.
I can rattle off a bunch of negatives about LS - but I read the contract before I signed, did my homework and made a decision - so I may as well rattle off the negatives to the mirror each morning.
@spyder7723 is right - at least to me he is, I weighed the added work of running my own numbers to the LS model and decided that LS was the better option, at least in the interim, or until something changed. -
