Can you give us an example? My workers comp is $28/wk at Prime.

I pay more than that. You can call landstar and they will tell you what your rate is. I have 2 mil accident death and life. Bobtail is 87 a month.

I called a couple months ago and they said their drivers are NETTING $1.70/mile. That could have been what they settle to the BCO before he or she has to make a truck payment and fund the maintenance reserve. I know what my expenses are, so I’m curious what a Landstar driver can gross weekly?

At landstar you get shown and or told the gross rate. Then landstsr takes its cut. 35% if you pull their dry box. The rest is yours. You pay any advance you took and anything you buy from landstar out of your 65% . Now if you stay in the midwest with a drybox you can gross 3 to 4 but you get nothing for deadhead. But it is very expensive to lease on here. everything is pricey, but we get around 50 cents a gallon off at ta and petro.

Does that price include your Workman's Comp? That's very high bobtail insurance. Mine is $20 a month. My Workman's comp is $135 a month.

So you think I can expect to gross $3000-$4000 per week? For the opportunity to run more miles and pay higher insurance rates than I currently do? I’m hoping that is a very conservative/pessimistic estimate.

That is jus bobtail. It is expensive ,$22 per week. Occupational Accident is about the same as you pay $31 a week.

Landstar doesn't accept ordinary bobtail insurance. They require you to have unladen liability, which covers bobtailing and running with an empty trailer.
