Entering my settlement in today I noticed a "Pending Adjustment" from a load delivered in May.

Linehaul was $1150, and they'd changed it to $1100, and decided to back charge me for it.

I rang Rockford settlements, they took care of it and removed it.

This was a load fraught with problems from the start. The original load on the FB was a CHR cut and paste that CHR had messed up and switched the shipper and receiver. When I caught it and alerted JBI agency to it, they immediately found another load from the same pickup city to another city in MI.

2 problems - they used the original FB#, therefore eliminating a TONU, and the agent said "Oh - I kept the rate the same for you" (like she was doing me a favor - the load paid junk money anyway).

They evaded and fought the TONU. CHR said "Oh - because it cancelled more than 24 hours from pickup, we don't have to pay TONU". I eventually went up the chain and got $100 from LS to at least cover the fuel. Then 2 months later attempted a rate change.

In my eyes, its dirty - unscrupulous, unethical thieving. They shouldn't be allowed to operate.

JBI - I won't haul for them, and now you have been warned.

So, to clarify, your complaint is with JBI ? Not Landstar..

Sounds like JBI is the code for the Landstar agent used. SInce JBI is an agency of Landstar, that would mean the complaint is still valid as it is all Landstar.

Correct. Landstar allows unscrupulous activities from many 'cut and paste', and 'pyjama' agents that simply have little business being - in the business.

A friend was told "We discourage you from causing a fuss about $100 ", between his rate confirmation and his settlement.

I've fought over less than $100 out of principle.

Whilst resolution is available, after much gnashing of teeth, for folks like myself that offer top notch service, honesty and reliability, with maximum communication - it's frustrating , REALLY frustrating, to have agents like this use all manner of trickery to scrape up pennies out of the pot after a stellar performance.

So yes, in short - LS provides a great system, however it is poisoned by agents such as JBI.

    Yes and No.

If you're prone to believing all of the froo froo promotional guff regarding LS, then you'll be sadly disappointed after a few loads with these muppets.

I'm not that naive, I'm just sharing an experience with one such Jim Henson character, in the hope it alerts newbies to the LS system that the system itself allows , errrr, shenanigans.

whoopNride and 88 Alpha Thank this.
