    I have several years experience but only 7 months within the last three years. The last three years are all that companies care about even though you don't forget how to drive in that time. Do any of you know of any carrier or bank that will do a lease purchase based on cumulative experience? I'd really be interested in something like Schneider's lease options since it's self dispatch. However, their website says "at least 12 months experience"? I tried Lone Mountain and they told me I needed 2 years recent experience.

    I've not looking for negative posts or comments, just some helpful information if anyone has any to share. Thanks in advance.

    I looked at them previously but couldn't find anything on their website stating what their payscale is, which is a HUGE red flag for me.

    I don't know; maybe it depends on which division you're hauling for. I went through their orientation several years ago and they let you pick any truck you want, one of theirs or one off any dealership or lot of your choosing. Don't know how it is now. Most of the drivers went to a Freightliner dealership and picked a trade-in. Some went to Volvo and others just where ever they saw one they liked. Maybe all that's changed now, you can call and find out.

    That doesn't sound bad at all. I'm gonna look into it & I'll follow up on here as soon as I know something. Thanks for the info. By the way, I'm in the Vegas area as well.

    I'm from VA. I moved here to get out of snow and into a warmer climate. Now I drive a truck into snowy areas....hahaha. I can't get away from it!

    I left Tennessee because of the snow & ice during the winter months.
    I thought, why am I dealing with this? Life only goes around one time, so quit complaining and do something about it. In 50 - 75 years it will be a non-issue because everyone posting on here won't even be alive then. May as well try to be comfortable for our remaining years on the earth.
    I moved to an HOA; it's actually an HOA within an HOA, thus 2 HOA fees every month plus $30 a month for use of the swimming pool. Well worth it to me. Can see the Las Vegas Strip, but have no desire to go there. There's a photo of the Las Vegas Strip from where I live.

    @Chinatown

    I have spent some extended time in Las Vegas. The homes there were really beautiful and reasonably priced.

    That looks like a really nice place that you have there.

    I don’t recommend leasing from a carrier. The price you’ll end up paying by the end of the lease is much higher than if you had saved money and bought your own. Most these programs still pay mileage, not percentage which ends up underpaying you. There are many rules regarding the truck maintenance, modifications, and escrows. If they lease you a used truck your maintenance cost will be higher than with a new one and the payments many of these programs have on a new one are grossly inflated. And, it will be a vanilla fleet spec, reducing your efficiency. Save money and get one on your own.
    Don’t lease a truck just to buy a good job. Lease a truck to be a business owner, there’s a big difference.
