Isn’t there a nanny system to warn dispatch that this screw up occurred?

    My Pete does the same.

I don’t think OP will have any problem.

When I set the brakes on my ‘23 579 and leave it in gear it will push for a second and then drop into neutral. This is also the first truck I’ve ever driven that moves when the service brake is released and before the throttle is touched. Just like your car. It makes finessing it under a trailer or backing up to a curb stop a real PIA.

Now they I'm thinking about it, I think it does go into neutral but the dash still shows drive.

Poor op now he’s going to check every 5 minutes during his ten and not get any sleep.

    Ever lasting trauma for sure.

You do need to develop consistent habits. It comes from experience which learning not to do THAT again.
