How hard is it to pay attention to the road? I mean really, driving trucks isn't anything different from driving a car. Just bigger. Pay attention to the #### road and leave some space.

Not to mention they're probably getting called into inspection every time they roll across a scale now.

Absolutely no freaking excuse for that stupidity.

One of the guys who told me about this system, I do know he was driving a white Volvo at the time.truckguy391 and 650cat425 Thank this.

Why are drivers on here discussing safety technology? I get sick of that. You wrap that tractor around your back, you are in charge. Not your mommy, not Alexa, not some stupid beeping nanny. YOU ARE!!
-
Because unfortunately many drivers out there, like the idiot in the video need help with being a responsible human. I have family members out there, you have family members out there, any one of them could have been in those cars. I hope we get the real story on what caused/distracted him to just plow right through.FearTheCorn, UsualSuspect and truckguy391 Thank this.

I could tell you a story about a Cascadia with the Collision Management System. One night a guy in his Tesla decided to drive 75-80 mph in the rain and cut across three lanes in front of me. He lost traction when he tried to straighten it out, slid across the three lanes into the concrete barrier, and bounced back in front of me going backwards where I hit him head on.
Did the radar hit the brakes? Nope. It only does that for bridges or vehicles exiting the freeway one lane to my right.
The only thing the radar is good for is to be able to tell people that the Mustang passed me going 116 mph in the construction zone. It does nothing to prevent collisions. -
They're good at matching the speed of the vehicle in front of you to the point you don't even realize it has slowed you down to 60 mph. But, yes, they're good at slamming on the brakes when it sees a shadow from the highway sign or bridge, or a curving concrete wall in front of you on an interchange.
-
Hit me right in the radar, didn't engage the brakes. I have no use for the so-called Collision Management System. It's a defect, not a feature.
