I’m very interested to know your route out of MI from there.
Also, I’m thinking that you didn’t mean to post this here.

My O/O buddy, that I drove for when I started this thread, came close to death this week. By God's grace looks like he will survive.
He had a widow-maker heart attack sitting in a truck stop empty in Iowa.
He was transported first to a small hospital, and eventually to the University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Where they were able to do a successful quadruple bypass surgery yesterday.
Prayers for my buddy.Speed_Drums, Vic Firth, Loudstacks and 7 others Thank this. -

My buddy that had the widow-maker had the bypass surgery in Iowa and they were eventually able to get him home to Florida. He's still having several issues but he's on his feet and fairly stable.
My hands still have some stiffness and numbness. But they have recovered enough that they are close to fully functional.
The doctor cleared me a few months ago to drive, but I chose to go ahead and retire since I was turning 62 in September.
I started drawing SS this month.
I have had a very strong impulse to be a watchman for Israel for the last 7 years. I study everything about them and their multitude of enemies. Both currently and scripturally.
I have found myself quite busy watching everything that is transpiring since October 7th. Perfect timing for being home.
The SSA said that I could make up to $21k per year if I wanted to work part-time. So I renewed my CDL in September just in case I find myself needing to drive again. -
JoeyJunk Thanks this.

The doctor said that the numbness and stiffness can take anywhere from 1 month to 1 year to subside. He also said it could be permanent.
The stiffness has improved some and the numbness has improved some. But neither are normal.
I try to function as if I don't have a problem, I just tend to occasionally drop some things due to the dulled sensation from the numbness.
Unfortunately, going through the VA process took too many months to ever get to the surgeries.JoeyJunk, Speed_Drums and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
