Just a heads up and friendly forewarning if anybody cares...... I've said it before on here and I'm going to say it again. Be careful what you guys post on this forum, especially when it comes to things that are seditious or might be considered sensitive to the company. I'm sure I will get mocked and blasted for this but its really just not good policy to do so. I called in yesterday after returning to work from home time to give my 2 weeks resignation notice. Not only did my FM already know I was planning to resign, she said that she (and others) had been reading my postings going a way's back lol! This is not the first time I've heard something like this. Its actually the third. When I was in VB to get my truck QC equipped, they were in the process of trying to identify individual drivers based on our conversations on this board, specifically those of us who were discussing the test program. The time prior to that, I was using one of the recruiter/orientation lady's fax machines over on the Orientation side and some manager was talking about having a meeting to discuss "The Truckers Report website" because they wanted to determine which driver it was who had posted information about the Prepass being suspended.

I suspect a social media policy is in the works if one has not already been formulated. I would think its not far off on the horizon. I'm sure when this happens the responses will be more of the "too controllling," "micro managing," and whatnot comments. Fact is, companies have every right to do so to protect their intellectual property, internal or private practices, or to control their reputation when it comes to protecting their financial assets.

I'm not attacking anybody here and you guys do what you will with it. I'm just saying, being disgruntled is one thing, advocating sedition or acts that undermine company authority or operation is totally different.

It won't save money. They will see that. Its just a way of once again pawning the companies ability to make profit on the driver. Heartland express does it this way but they are also a rather successful company. They also have no debt. USA has never acknowledged that debt line on the balance sheet as the number reason of why they don't make money. How do they figure they are going to save 300 grand a month by telling the driver when and where and how much they can fuel? Anyway. 300 grand comes to 3.6 mil a year. At 6.5 mpg fuel cost 61 to 65 cents a mile (sometimes even less depending on prices). Fuel costs them 120 mil a year approx. So 3,600,000/120,000,000 comes to .03. So piss your drivers off cause hardship to everyone around you to save a mere 3% on your fuel. That's what it boils down to. O yea I almost forgot. That 3% savings is assuming their paper projection comes to material.

They may need to rethink all of our fuel stops with Pilot/FJ's home office being on FBI lockdown.

Who knows: Maybe if they read enough, they'll fire some drivers. NOTTTTTT. I don't think they can afford that either. That would really put them in a bind.

I know bro, its not bothering me. Its just...well...I'll tell you guys just like I told my FM. I'm trying to leave USA Truck on the best terms possible. I don't harbor any grudge or ill will towards this company. For all their flaws, they do have some good aspects as well. Looking back I don't think I would have rather started at Swift, Werner, Schneider, or PAM. They haven't "wronged" me in any way significant enough to motivate my leaving, its just a matter of timing. One of those weird coincidences in the universe that I just happened to walk into the right office of a small local company at just the right time. The Owner/Mgr was on the verge of firing somebody who was unreliable and kept complaining. He said he didn't know who to hire because he doesn't take trainees and all the local applicants that have experience have terrible driving records or CSA scores and he's trying to reduce his insurance costs. I just happened to stumble in with a perfect record, 2 years, and the head mechanic knew me which helped. So now I'm getting a dedicated dry-van paper mill account. I will be paid higher than I make here, home almost every night, 100% employer paid health insurance, and a flexible time off program. Basically in addition to getting half of Saturday and all Sunday's off, he just said let him know in advance any other days I wanted. This whole package is like a sore dog, you just can't beat it!

I wish the best of luck to everybody sticking it out with USA, and I really do hope they turn the ship around. I will continue to recommend students to this company as I think they have a training program thats at least better than most.

    WVroadtrucker1965 and Thomas0810 Thank this.

Don't worry about USA Chem. They don't worry about us. I cleaned the truck up reeeeeaaaal good. Then took it to a terminal. They didn't mess up my DAC. I would have sicked a lawyer on them anyways. I have pictures.
Hey man. Maybe on a day off we'll go on a scooter ride. I get Saturday evenings through Monday evenings off. Be Careful.

gotta agree with Thomas! Even though I am NOT at USA anymore....When I came onto the company I'm with now, they have the "fuel solution". At first i was all against it. BUT, 9 times out of 10 it will have fuel stops along my route, using my own gps. It is actually better, I think for USA. Can't tell you how many times I'll pull into a truckstop, at one of my fuel solutions, that is in the USA fuel book and see so many USA newbies getting 50-60 gallons of fuel(of course I'd be right behind them, next in line). Even when I was a newbie there I was trained to get no less than 100 gallons, unless it's a beer run...and we ALL know those! haha
