Maybe Quality Carrier buying heniff, and Schneider buying superior. Just for the record I did not hear that from anybody, I’m just clowning around

I’m suprised nobody has mentioned Trimac as a possible buyer for heniff, or superior

I talked with a terminal manager in NC and asked about cameras and he said there probably going to add driver facing cameras sometime in the next year. (Quality Carrier)

Wouldn’t be surprised if the corporate side of QC got rid of all their company drivers(not affiliates). Although they have a few Union shops QC was crying about driver wages, driver benefits, and did whatever they can to make them not pay the over night sleep in the truck pay. What I mean by that is when I first was there drivers could advance loads on the road with no problem. you were making 1500-2200 a week gross depending if it was dedicated or you were in the system. All of a sudden we basically went strictly dedicated, couldn’t even get out into the system because we made to much. Then they started this we want to “save” money and started have guys sleep in the yard making them not pull the load ahead. Saving them $50 a night while you’re still sleeping in the truck away from home. You could go home depending how far you live or you would have to stay depending on when you would leave to be on time for delivery. Money went down drastically to about 6-1000 take home. Contracts were just re-ratified but it wouldn’t surprise me if they went that route in the next couple years. I could be wrong tho. They can’t keep drivers as it is, and the union rolls over with them like they’re in bed so.

I have not, but it's been a little weird lately. I was loaned out to one terminal for a few days, and now I'm on loan to another running dedicated loads for a few weeks. Running system has been a financial disaster for the last month or two, with more low pay weeks in the last six than I had all year before that. Everyone says "Freight's slow" but it's really hard to know that without looking at the spreadsheets that are never available to drivers.

I'd be interested in hearing even just rumors, since I don't usually hear anything along those lines. That's mainly because after I quit management (in other industries) so I could drive a truck, I don't want to waste my energy on thinking about 'what-if' any more. Been there, done that, got the heart surgery. But if it's time to start looking for another company, it would be nice to know before winter. I really don't want to change jobs, though. It's tiresome.
