I am sure everyone does it differently but ours had the senior drivers name listed at the top left side of a legal size sheet and each driver below him on the left. All of the jobs available to bid were listed perpendicular at the top of the sheet from left to right. Every driver placed a number in the box according to how he wanted the jobs from one to how ever many spots he was on the board. Some people would run the board themselves by seeing what the top of the board picked and then only picked what they knew would be available. This company has an online bid app now and you have a certain time you must place your bid by or you are passed.
Another place I worked had lifetime bids so generally there were only a handful of bids at one time. If the clerk running the board got to a driver that picked multiple jobs and had the seniority to get more than one she would call them. She would stop awarding the board until his next report to work if she didn’t get him on the phone. Generally they would cover a job on call for a week or so to give everyone an opportunity to bid the new job and finish the job schedule they were already on.

Bid time is SERIOUS man. They called me when I was home playing battlefield. I turned the whole PlayStation off to focus. 6 years and some change and I avoided nights for the second year.
Speed_Drums and Lumper Humper Thank this. -
