Hey drivers — I’m digging deep into what life on the road is really like, beyond the headlines and hype.
I’m not a fleet owner, I’m not trying to sell anything. I just want to understand the actual pain points from people who live this every day.
What do you deal with that no one’s fixing?
I’m all ears — and taking notes.

Retail store locations that alter their parking lot layout that turn a designed site side dock into an almost impossible blind side dock.

Plastic trucks with rattle trap euro trash cabs, soccer mom mini van dashboards, and riding lawnmower size steering wheels. Lazy brain dead auto transmissions. Electrical systems made by the same genius’s that came up with the Chrysler TIPM.
Sons Hero, BoxCarKidd, MACK E-6 and 5 others Thank this. -
I used to get two weeks out of an ink pen for my log book. As of late, best I get is 10 days.
Not sure if that's a me problem or ink pen problem, but I've noticed it, and it ain't gettin fixed. -
Yes. Less in everything is the new. Went to go get some wet or dry sandpaper the other day. 5 pack of half sheets is all they stock now. For the price of a 10 pack of full sheets used to be. Wtf i’m i supposed to do with that?Feedman, Big Road Skateboard, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this.

The expansion of trash carriers offering 46CPM on a 1099, trash brokers, running trash equipment, companies importing and hiring trash drivers (both foreign and domestic) and being able to turn the lights off on a company one day and open a new one the next day with impunity and zeo consequences. Trash CDL mills that teach drivers how to wash their feet in the sink/cook in bathroom while the trucks are permanently parked in the fuel island. Not teaching trip planning or heavy weather tactics. Drivers that can't take a truck truck down a grade because the cruise control will not control the descent for them. Trailers that don't automatically compensate for off tracking (sarcasm). Lack of parking so the driver can meet HOS rules. Emission systems that down a perfectly good truck and mechanics that can't figure out and repair the trucks the dealer they work for sells. Trucking organizations/unions that cause all the major issues within the industry the are supposed to work to improve. Truck stops with no food options after 9pm, dirty showers, trash/piss bomb filled parking lots, which is one cause for decline in lot lizard quality.
But I digress.BoxCarKidd, MACK E-6, Rugerfan and 7 others Thank this.
