Is it possible to live in another state than the company you drive for, and still get home time? For example: Live in Oregon and work for a California or Texas company? Does anyone do that?
living far from terminal / yard?

Yes..
Depends on the company and where they run, but usually it's not a problem.
Living close does have its advantages, but that wasn't the question. -
i live 1300 miles from my companies terminal. We have company approved spots to park the truck and trailer when on home time. Just ask what ever company your applying to how they go about getting drivers home.
Calregon Thanks this. -
A lot of ppl live clear on the other side of the map and still get home the day they requested. All companies have to do is look on the load bored and see whats in your area.

Get a straight answer from a dispatcher on what pattyj said * not the recruiter.
They may have a customer close to you.
Also ask about their policy on taking the truck home. -
