Loblaws and a company called Vanguard has a completely driverless truck which operates from a Loblaws automated warehouse and runs from Brampton to Toronto. Canadian tire is also testing out Nuport trucks on private roads at a distribution centre north of the city
I would hate to be a young person looking to get into this industry and not because of the greedy companies looking to axe our jobs . i’m 39 and have been a driver for 17 years and i’m looking at exiting this industry altogether. I just don’t see a bright future in trucking

I'll worry once they're able to winch a 12 wide shack onto a float and haul it 40 km down a ragged-### lease road covered in sloppy, ankle deep mud and then pilot it down the QE2 in a blizzard before backing it in to a 14 wide space and winching it off.
