To the op do you speak spanish by any chance? You might be able to find a gig that will take rookies in those spanish newspapers. I think nrt takes rookies (northern refigerated) and I believe theyre in vernon

Coremark is in vernon they say 6 months and theyre hiring, might make an exception.

Hell even waste management would be a lot better than robertsons. Those 3 companies pay more than 60k in la

According to them, they have a list of employers in the area they can give you, ask them for it. One of your challenges will be the lack of course hours, it is a 40 hour course, and most like to see 160 hours. I looked at them a few months ago, they do what they say they will, but nothing more. The 40 hour course may limit who may consider you. Not sure if you are closer to Upland or downtown, but I would drive over to the Biagi Brothers, ask for the Terminal Manager and ask him, always worth a try. I would search Google Maps, maybe even look at CraigsList (Avoid 1099 jobs), even stop by the Petro, and the other truck stops in the area, see who is there fueling and gran some of the magazines with jobs in them. Also check with others in your class, see what they found. Local is not impossible, just don't get discourage with all the no's, eventually you will find someone who will say yes.
