I thought you didn't have to be on duty to be unloaded

I just read an article about hosts/hostesses in restaurants being abused by customers just for doing their job.
    Covid stuff, you know.
Some of them would probably like to have you visit some time.

There are a lot of bad attitudes going around these days.
Needless and senseless aggression because so many people feel so entitled.

    You don't.

But your reply didn't exactly address the issue you quoted.

    Rideandrepair and ZVar Thank this.

For the most part one doesn't. What does that have to do with him driving though?

Driver's duty status while loading/unloading can be somewhat complicated. Lots of different variables! Honestly, most drivers are going to get off that on-duty not driving status ASAP! What I think you are getting confused about is how this relates to the 14-hour clock! Experienced drivers know how to handle this. I would almost be willing to go out on a limb and say at least 90% of all forced PC moves are a result of an elapsed 14!

The school you attended should have gone over the HOS rules in general. At some point, you are going to be with a trainer/mentor who will teach you how to use your carrier's ELD equipment! I might also add some carriers that will briefly go over the ELDs and might also give you this material to use as a reference!

What kind of violation is it if he didn’t give you a ticket or put you out of service?
