Click the link and read page 17. Everything in the drivers daily log must be true and correct. Boom. Your body was in the sleeper but you falsely logged Off Duty. You cannot fight city hall on this one. I think what happens is drivers are out here so long they warp the rules in their own heads.

Yes I log sleeper for x amount of time and when it is time to get up to go pee, I don't care how bad I have to go I won't leave til I have changed the sleeper status to off duty. And when I come back to go to bed, again change it back to sleeper. So simple.

I love this thread. The difference between sleeper berth and off duty is that one is in the sleeper berth and one isn't. In other words there is off duty in the sleeper berth and off duty not in the sleeper berth. Logging accordingly isn't that complicated.

youre welcome sir, its a quote I heard from another old driver several years ago, now I have become the old driver. his original quote stated " pushed more miles across a counter at a 76 truckstop" but then you have to explain what a 76 truckstop was.

Yes that is torturous when you have to pee soooo bad but it is after midnight and have to close out yesterday's log and prepare today's log.

There are degrees of false logging that just don't matter as much as others, the regs don't distinguish. Like being in the sleeper and logging off duty I agree will hurt no one.

It is the guys who log sleeper and are out swiping their ATM cards or throwing the dice in the casino in front of the eye in the sky who are setting themselves up for lifetime lockdown at their local Pen.

Whenever there is a fatality crash, financial forensic investigators will go over your logs to find any falsification and thereby be able to assign blame and fault.

The inspecting officers are only trying to keep us out of jail and producing those massive tax dollars which make our country great.

Again, then answer me how you can possibly do a 34 hour reset when you are away from home unless you get a hotel for 2 days or log it wrong?

So I will ask you the same question then. How can you possibly do a 34 hour restart then? Stop trying to make yourself believe that's what you actually do because you're full of it!!!

Reset away from home, no thanks.

Actually I have a couple of times. I'm not saying I make a line everytime I go from line 1 to line 2. So yes, I log it wrong. I show some time on each line and don't worry about it. The only point I was making is that the technical difference between the two is obvious.
