I was in Texas last week and I was surprised to see all the Charger Logistics trucks, not endorsing them just saying I believe they’re Canadian. Lots of Danny Herman & Carter Express.

 

Update on this topic. FYI. My local experience does not apply for OTR trucking companies. I'm applying as a new OTR driver with very little experience. 3 months experience. I found a couple of OTR companies that will hire me. Gonna see how it goes with one of the companies and stick it out for 9 months to a year or more depending on the miles and pay. Some advice for new CDL drivers serious about driving long-term . Stick with your first driving job for at least 6 months . 1 year is better. SAVE your money. Have emergency money saved before hiring on if possible. Be prepared to potentially sit waiting for a load until you can prove you can be on time safely. For example I sat for 34 to 55+ hours at a truck stop after messaging and calling the driver manager for pre plan. Having loads put on you and then removed without notification Thank you all for the input.

Why do you want to stick with reefer, most dry van companies pay better and much less hassle.

As far as Tribe goes, .42 a mile for someone with 27 yrs experience, lmao. I don’t care how nice the equipment is or how hot the owner is!

Some reasons for going reefer. Like you , many don't want to touch reefer. Also economic slowdown. People still need to eat. I'm limited to companies that will hire me because my local class a driving experience isn't being considered. Many otr companies require 6 months to a year recent otr experience. I'm hiring on as a total otr noob with 3 months experience .It's a fact .I have the skill to drive but in reality I am an otr rookie. I already sealed the deal leaving my prior otr job.Im gonna have to stick it out with my next otr job before I can get decent job offers.

 

The question is how many miles does the fleet run? I know Tribe runs all over the country. If they are paying a weak cpm, I am thinking the miles are big
