Just started back Trucking last year, So my choices on who to drive for are very limited. I am looking at JR Schugal, MCT, Interstate Distributors and AD Transport, Maybe Morgan Van Lines..
Do any of you have any RECENT experience with any of these trucking companies and if so will you give me some HONEST FEEDBACK !!

I worked at J&R Schugel for just over 1 1/2 years. They're a decent company. APUs on every truck. Miles are definitely there, we haul tons of freight to and from every corner of Ohio. They just upped their pay package from 36¢ per mile with no bonuses to 38¢ with a fuel/safety/on time bonuses. Only reason I'm not there is because I'm on a mission to improve my health at home, they have no pet policy, and I got fed up with the restricted toll roads. Good luck with your job search!
WOLFHAWK Thanks this. -
There pay isnt the best, but sounds like good equipment, There lease program is along ways from affordable , Its the highest ive heard yet, around 900 aweek, WOW, ARE YOU SAYING THEY DONT ALLOW DRIVERS TO RUN TOLL ROADS???
-
Yeah they have very well maintained equipment. I'd say 95% of the trucks and trailers are newer than 2 years old. We cannot use SOME toll roads. No Chicago skyway, no IN toll road or OH turnpike. No PA turnpike from OH border to New Stanton & Harrisburg to King of Prussia. No NJ turnpike from DE border to Bordentown. No NY thruway from PA border to Schenectady. Everywhere else is allowed, and we do get an EZ pass.

If you're in Ohio, check out Metropolitan Trucking out of Bloomsburg, PA. While they don't have the fastest trucks on the road, the equipment is new or fairly new and very well maintained. They have APU's in all trucks along with a company installed 1500w inverter.
They don't allow running on all toll roads, but the Indiana pike and parts of the Ohio pike are ok to run. As far as the PA pike, you can run the Northeast Extension from end to end and the east west pike from Philly to New Stanton. In New Jersey you can run all of the pike, but they prefer you use I-295 in southern NJ since it parallels the toll road up to Bordentown. Mass Pike is ok as well. Not sure on the NY Thruway.
Pay-wise, they have a minimum pay as long as you don't turn down loads. You can always make more, but never less than that minimum.
And finally, they don't micro manage you. You get your assignments and they pretty much leave you alone to do your job. There is a list of approved truckstops to fuel at, but as long as you use one from the list, you are free to route yourself and fuel where/when you need to.
I worked there briefly last year, and if family issues didn't force me into a local position, I'd still be there as they are one of the better companies I've driven for. -
