    Hello,

I keep getting emails from Schneider Trucking advising me of sales on trucks. Some of the trucks they are selling have a significant amount of the manufactures warranty left on them(200K and 1.5years) They are also no more than 3.5 years old.

I can purchase one of these units because of my credit scores for no more than FIRST and LAST months payments(no more than $3500).

The question is? How do I get jobs? Are there good brokerage companies out there that you can recommend OR Would I be wise to sign on as an owner operator with Schneider so I can start paying the truck off.

I am tired of working to make someone else money and want some freedom.

    Thanks for your advise.

Who do you currently work for? Do they lease on O/O's? You have a lot of research ahead of you. Remember too, just because you can get a truck doesn't mean you should get a truck.

I currently work as a city bus driver. I have 6 month of OTR with S**ft and at the time did not like the OTR aspect of it, that aspect has changed now that my wife want to travel.

You should be a company driver first. No more experience than you currently have, insurance will be extremely expensive.
    Where is your location?
When is the last time you drove big trucks?

    Petty Cash Thanks this.

That right there is your answer. Not that it's impossible to make it without experience, but this is not a forgiving industry. Learn on someone else's dime, then make the leap.
