I drove for about 8 months for FFE back in 2003-04. I have kept my class-A CDL despite not using it.
I left the job due to some personal reasons mostly.. needed to be home.

Now. 10 years later, for a variety of reasons I'm looking to return to the world of OTR trucking.
Firstly.. although I still have my CDL, I haven't driven a big rig in 10 years, so would need some sort of refresher, obviously.
Secondly.. I would love to find a company that is either truckload only, or is no-touch freight. That was my biggest thing I hated the last time around - having to unload freight on the LTL side of things.

I would love to be with a company that runs all over the lower-48, not just one area. I'm single and not keeping a place of my own, so conceivably I could take home-time anywhere, although my family is from the Massachusetts area so would prefer ended up there on off-time if at all possible...

Anyway insights on companies to target would be greatly appreciated!

If you have not kept a current medical card you may not have a CDL any longer. Some drivers have found out theirs has been suspended due to recent law changes.

    Hmm. Well that's interesting.
Is that true in all states or just some?
Well either way, any insights re: my other questions?

Federal law administered by states. Call Secretary of State where you live and ask them. Department of Motor Vehicle or what ever they call it.

Pride Transport run 48 states and is 100% no-touch freight.

Some have also found out that their license has been knocked down from a CDL to a regular drivers license. You would normally be notified about it, but some have gotten a surprise when they go and get a driving job and found out they have a regular license and have to go back through school.
