She knows her family and should have know to not tell anyone.
~
A single guy in California won $50 Million and didn't tell anyone. His sister hates him for some reason, so he didn't tell her either.
What he did; quit his job and moved to another state. Bought a modest middle-income house and non-descript car and started living a relaxed life.mjd4277, The one california kid, CassND and 7 others Thank this. -
I don’t blame her, i got a sister who is on meth.
all she’d do is OD if she could afford something else.
Another sister hasn’t talked to me since 16 when mom died, she wanted everything given to her while we were at funeral home.
She got mad at me when i said this wasn’t time or place, moms not even buried yet and you want everything.mjd4277, The one california kid, Flat Earth Trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
Funerals bring out some peoples real self, I haven't talked to my brother since our Mom passed. And most likely never will.

She lived in a very nice assisted living home the Army paid for, but still lots of time and responsibility taking care of her.Last edited: Aug 5, 2024

I side with her. I mean it's only ½ a million dollars. That's not generational wealth at all. That kind of money only pays off debt. I'm all for giving back to family and society, but you can't be stupid with it. She's offering 5k to him. I'd be cool with that!!

It's a darn shame, we have to rely on winning the lottery to have basic needs.

It's awful sad that when i and my siblings were growing up i felt like i would take a bullet for my family. Now that Mom and Dad is gone, it was hard to see the truth about them when I was 50+ yrs old. My big brother won't even talk to me and my two older sisters act like they hate me and I have no idea why, but have stopped wondering why they're like that and just live my life as laid back as I can. Weird though that if they ask me for help on fixing a car or a house or
Stuff that I'll just do it. No thanks needed or wanted. Guess I get that from my dad. -
And this wasn’t a fancy car by any imagination-it was a basic run of the mill maroon Toyota Camry.
Ironically that car was totaled a few weeks later while one of my brother’s friends was running errands. Still, the passing of a loved one can bring out the dark side in a lot of people, especially if money and/or other assets are involved. The one california kid, Star Rider, Judge and 1 other person Thank this.
