So I was in bronx. Directions JB gave me told me to take right off exit 10 and then first left. WRONG. Takes me under the L train. Marked 12'10 so I am good I know is more like 14 feet go under. Then I see signs 10'10 no where to turn around and its rush hour. I slowly go under did not hit anything and made it to the store. WTF. I wish i had a go pro camera. If I ever do hit a bridge and had that recorded it will cover my ###. Is there any phone holder that can mount phone on windshield so i can record it with my phone? I need to record that and post up on youtube. So many ignorant ppl blaming truckers for hitting bridges when its not there fault.

? Did you read? I went under and did not hit it. I want to take a video to prove the signs are wrong not to prove the directions were wrong.

No, so many ignorant truckers not getting out and looking to see if the rig will clear?

So many ignorant truckers taking it for granted the over-passes and bridges in NYC are marked lower than they actually are?

So many ignorant drivers not paying attention?

As the truck driver, it is the responsibility of THE TRUCK DRIVER not to top his rig. GPS can BE WRONG, directions from the company CAN BE WRONG.

It is the smart truck driver, over the ignorant one that will double and triple check ALL directions going into NYC, and coming back out.

The ignorant people you speak of simply laugh at the ignorant truckers.

The signs may be wrong, they may not be wrong. So tell us, would you please, what will it do for you to CYA if the signs are posted with incorrect heights? Whether they be correct height, or incorrect height, who are you going to report this to, The US Marshall's?

The signs are there, pure, plain and simple. You hit a bridge, you are still toast.

The signs should be correctly marked and if you get out and look you can get hit by a car. This has nothing to do with gps, directions or not paying attention. Stopping a truck in the middle of the road because you see a sign saying 12'10 can in itself cause an accident.

Proof of wrong directions won't help you one bit if you hit a low bridge... As the driver it's your responsibility.

Well then wear a reflective vest?

When I did Chicago, and came up to the viaducts, you had better believe I stopped and got out an looked. Are you afraid to get out and look? Sounds to me like you are. To place blame on the signage says to me that you are not a trucker, but a steering wheel holder.

When I had done several areas of NYC, you had better believe I got out and looked there as well. WHen I did some parts of NJ, again, I would get out and look. I'd rather have traffic backed up, and get the one finger salute, then to top a trailer!

There's a reason it's not correctly mark. Its the same over here in chicago. Guess what, it tend to snow over there, you got ice and compact snow that decrease the height. You also got construction sometimes.
