I still can't believe you guys in SoCal get started at that rate. That is complete bull*hit. The cost of living down there is way higher than everyone else out here where I am at. I agree with what you are saying. No offence to YRC, but they grew much faster than they should have. You got one giant cooperation buying out all the others. Eventually what will happen is you will have one giant branch covering way more area than they can manage. It will be like a giant tree collapsing under its own weight. It is already happening with our pay and benefits.

UPSF starts you very low as well. WHen they asked how much I make at YRC the guy was like yea you wont make that starting out, but in the long run the top rate is higher than YRCs plus no 15% taken out. I wont be paying rent so it wont totally hurt me, just gives me less money in my spending account

Is it too early to say congrats on the new gig? Good luck at UPSF!

I filled out all the W-2 forms and some other paperwork they needed. They said I'd be called Tuesday the latest...
-
Sounds like you're in. They called me back about a road and city position but I ended up going to OD.
They have the highest top hourly wage I believe with their new contract. $26.65/hr after 4 years. Not bad. -
Not bad at all! ACH, did you already give notice to YRC? Sounds like you're in at UPSF
-
No I haven't been given a start date yet
-
Ok well I have been slacking but I start with UPSF next monday... got the call tuesday morning. Didnt hit me how much I like YRC but at the same time I gotta do whats right for me
