Hey guys dealing with and issue. Question I made it to the receiver in time and they would not unload me due to nobody making an appointment to be able to deliver load. They said they don’t do same day appointments and now said I have to sit on the load until tomorrow. What should I do I called JB Hunt and the are trying to figure things out. If I have to sit on this load what are my options in regards to compensation. Since I will have to cancel my other load for today and Impact my carrier score with my other broker?..

call the other broker, explain what’s happening, ask if they can load it tomorrow.
Send copies of you showing making it to current receiver and them not unloading til tomorrow.

Sometimes they’ll work with you, long as they know you’re not just trying to pull one over on them

Only broker on this load is JB Hunt and by the sound of it looks like the customer never made an appointment to deliver this load. So now it looks like I will be sitting on this load and not being able to unload until tomorrow. Which sucks because it will messed up all my other booked loads and cost me $? Today I will loose a grand just sitting on this load over night. Don’t mind but I just want to be properly compensated for it. So I’m trying to figure out what I should do. Or as for as far as compensation goes?

You should call the other broker and tell'em what happened, they'll understand.

$1000 for the lost day would be nice, wouldn’t it? The reality is that, JB hunt will pay you about $250 of layover, and you will wait till tomorrow to deliver it.
    Worse things than that happen.

Whatever your layover pay you agreed when signing up with broker is what you will get. Most likely for JB hunt 150-250 is my guess.
