Sitting here killing time before my family's trucker Thanksgiving is done, decided to check out my truck, fill all the fluids, grease the 5th wheel...and I discovered this about to fall out of the back of my air cleaner...it was only finger tight

And another bolt is missing...I hope the Pete dealer did a better job tightening the motor mounts and transmission bolts than my air cleaner bolts when they pulled the motor to do the cam...thought I was hearing some weird rattling under hard pulls, but thought it was just the dash rattling from the truck aging like a Freightliner

Anyone know why Ashley will not give a layover day for a stop where you're there 24 hours in advance?

They're probably tightening the belt a little with all the new equipment being added (since they're expanding a lot, I call it adding rather than replacing) and business slowing some. They're even getting picky about cash receipts on scales that we don't use our fuel card on.

I can kind of see requiring a cash receipt on scale tickets. There may be some people using the fuel card to pay for the scale ticket then turning it in saying they paid cash for it. The receipt will show how was paid fuel card or cash

Yeah, I could see that if they didn't use the app...

I don't know why she wouldn't, she just gave me a layover day last week and I just got another one for the load I'm on now.

Layover is sitting 24 hours without being dispatched. You were dispatched.

Usually they are pretty good about giving a layover day on a load with extra time on it, but I have noticed Ashley has been tightening up on it. If you feel strongly about it, refuse the load next time, explain why, and ask for something else.

With all that said, if it has good miles on it and it puts you in a good reload position, I'd go ahead and take it. Can run hard and maybe get in a 34, or take your sweet ### time, which ain't necessarily a bad thing either.

What sense does it make to refuse a load over sitting and not getting paid, when in all actuality you will sit longer and not get paid?

I think they are talking about when other loads are available...especially when it's a load that she is trying to push because other drivers have decided it wasn't productive enough and she can't get anyone to take it.
