Something must be in the air this week.
Guard at Budweiser said my load home for xmas won't load till the 26th. I said goodbye.
Hope Joey can find something else in the morning.

On US-35 in OH. I got pulled over randomly. He said he wanted to see my load paperwork, made sure I had my emergency response guidebook handy, and checked my permit book and license. He was very friendly and said make sure your company gets this report, they'll want to see it and it'll improve their already great safety score.Pigbacon, Xeres63, Crusader66 and 3 others Thank this. -

So yeah, I ran into black ice, high winds blowing snow, and a heavily iced up truck. I ended up delivering two days late in Denver, but the key word here is, "delivered". Some of the wrecks I saw put people in the hospital for a long time, if not in the ground.
Picking up at miller coors turned out to be a nightmare. If you've never been there before, it's a sprawling complex surrounded by mountains and artificial ponds. The entire trailer yard is dirt, which means hip deep snow over frozen mud this time of year. I had to dig out my drives after getting stuck while dropping my empty. Then I had to dig out my loaded trailer. On top of that, several mechanisms involved in the process were frozen over and had to be banged on, chipped at, or pried lose. Then I had to find a patch of ground dry enough and firm enough to slide my tandems on. A simple drop and hook ended up taking an hour and 45 minutes to complete, and I'm still sore from all the exertion.
Right now I'm waiting on another driver to swap trailers with. He's going to run this load up to devils lake, and I'm going to load here at cavendish in Jamestown. I'll take that load to coon rapids, then load at cavendish in Waite park,mn. I'll deliver in Jackson, ms, at 1700 on the 23rd, and finally get home about 2130 that night. I won't come back out on the road until January 2nd, so merry Christmas and happy New Years in advance. -
