Reloaded at Morrow Cold in Boardman, OR Headed to Aberdeen MD.

I'm dropping it in the Fargo yard to take a load home and clean out my truck.

I have a feeling someone will whine about picking this up in the yard and taking it to Aberdeen, MD.

So, coming up for air here in Yakima, WA after crawling into the doctor last Tuesday and finding out I had double pneumonia.

Took the truck into Peterbilt Thurs for a simple line replacement, but then the shop approved 6 other things (PM) and I didn't get the truck back til 1400 today. STILL need the bunk-heater fixed (Thermo-King thing) But I'd be here til Thurs to get that done, so I'm idling for a while.

Matt says he'll have something for me Tues/Wed. 2 Full weeks off and 99% of that time in bed. Usually Im whining about extra days off. This time I'll take it all and no complaints. Never been so sick and had it also had it take so long to get better. 10 days since I went to the doctor and still weak as a kitten. Hooked up a trailer at PETE today and it was a major effort. Hopefully another few days and I will be mostly back to normal.

DO NOT take getting sick on the truck as nothing. I was stupid and went for 6 days with high fever and coughing before I went to a DR. Cost me 2 weeks idle plus Dr. bills and meds. If I would have gone in 4 days earlier, I could have saved a week idle time.

Magnum has been awesome about the whole incident, pretty much no questions asked. Just well wishes for a speedy recovery.

bigred81, majestyk, gdyupgal and 2 others Thank this.

Im sure winny didn't miss anything, but just in case he did:
    1. Be prepared to stay out 4-6 weeks at a time. Pay by performance means being out there on the road. You know, performing.
    2. I was at a company before this one where it was nearly impossible to sleep at a shipper. Magnums shippers are night and day different. Some will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable while you wait. Others will load or unload you hours or even days early. This gets confused sometimes by people who aren't used to it who read this thread and think we are living on the side of the street and pooping in bags. When I read that, I was actually parked at the shippers washout facility eating free popcorn and hot dogs and debating whether I should take a free shower or not.
    3. No one holds your hand here at all. Dispatch minds it's business, and you get to mind yours. They do a good job of making sure you have the tools you need. For example, we have an account with blue beacon, so there is never a real excuse to show up with a dirty trailer. We can send in paperwork via the transflo app. We can pay for scales and get read outs on the cat scale app. It's the easiest bosses I've ever worked for: I never have to actually interact with them for anything so long as I'm keeping their truck moving.
    4. Tony isn't like any recruiter I've ever come across. He won't lie or bs you. If you have a problem with the truck he puts you in, he will put you in another one...no questions asked.

Freight might suck 90% of the time where I live, but it sure is nice to live there when Ma' Nature is pitching a snow/ice fit
