80880 lbs gross today 65 miles from shipper. If I go back I won't be leaving till tomorrow will be late for my delivery. Only need to run 480 miles to be good. 400 down.

Yea, North Carolina allows 38,000 on your tandems or your drives. But still 80,000 gross.

Any suggestions on places to park around black mountain nc.

 

TA in Chandler is about the closest you can get...Ingles right?
Make sure to reserve a spot, that place will fill up real quick.....
Ask @Zata40 he was there recently...

It's about 25 miles west of Ingles.... there is a rest area on 40 a little closer (20 miles? East) but you will have to pass Black Mountian and come back up a very long 7% grade coming back up to Ingles.... a couple other truck stops in Marion, NC but they are further east of the rest area...
So Chandler TA is the better option

 

How are they about unloading got a 1000 appt can I arrive early?

 

Not sure... I've always had a very early appt. and didn't want to get there any earlier than nessasary. They do have a staging parking area but won't let you park overnight....
I don't think I have ever gotten detention there....

 

Definitely reserve early! He helped me out with that advice and I'm glad I did it.
