Magnum ltd - fargo, nd

Finished unloading in Greensboro, NC at about 1000 this morning, and my load app't at Kay Chemical was for 1700. Called Jeremy to try to get an earlier appt since I was going to be there by 1100. He said he couldn't do it. Got there & checked in immediately, fully expecting to be doing an 8 hr split. An hour & a half later I was pulling out of there! Nice...

 

Have a 4 drop here in NC, 2-Charlotte, 1-Salisbury and final in Graham. Supposedly reload at Kay Chemical.

 

A Magnum passed me today on I-80 in Iowa (not downhill), I was driving 70 mph, was surprised, usually I pass all you guys
Do you have O/O? Couldn't see the tractor, when I realized it was a Magnum trailer it was too late.
The guy was doing minimum 75 mph

 

We do have some owner ops... not many... but that was one I am sure!

 

Talked to one of your guys in St. Cloud MN on Friday afternoon, asked him if he was one of you guys here on the forum, he replied "no, I have a life"

 

Made my delivery in Greenville Tx. Drove on down to Rockwell, TX to the TA to wait out my pick up tomorrow in Dallas at 1400 ... been running so hard this seems like a vacation...
headed towards NC tomorrow for a Friday 0100 delivery and some hometime...
Will be about 10,000 miles in just over 3 weeks... with 2 resets and a lay over day...and 3 hrs detention so far...

Was offered a reload that picked up at my 14th hour at a place that had no parking anywhere near it, so I was offered an alternate load that I took...then 5 minutes before quitting time in Fargo, the alternate load cancelled. So, he said he will find me something else. I was wrong about my miles after I deliver today...I thought I wouldn't top 7000 by the end of this load, but, I'll have 7800 miles (INCLUDING deadhead) by the 24th(with 3 hours of detention)...not my worst month, but not my best...should end with another sub-10k month, which was an average month in 2016. But...this close to tax season, and my exit from Magnum...I have adopted an all new attitude...I have an "I'm fresh out of give a ####" tone to my interaction with Fargo anymore...Heck, I may just tell him to send me home for a couple days so I can get a head start on cleaning out my truck.

 

I didn't think I was doing very well miles wise this month but I was wrong. Sitting at my last stop in Oakwood, Ga and I have done 10,265 not including deadhead miles. Had 12 loads this month which is a new record for me with 2 of those being Jennie-O totaling 8 stops plus plenty of steak money. Hopefully next month is just as good.
