Just a heads up on 294 around Chicago they have busting people for using the 3rd right lane. Yesterday saw 6 pulled over and day before 8. Even around 290 and 88

 

Anyone been through orientation recently? What can I expect?

 

Monday HR stuff can't remember if drug/ physical if needed is Monday or Tuesday
Tuesday road test start hazmat and other company procedures.
Wednesday finish hazmat check out truck meet shop more company procedures
meet dispatch team and general manager vp of truckload
Thursday tie up loose ends should be done by noon
Friday pickup load home to get stuff.
When you meet dispatch they will have your load home already set up.

And bring your bathing suit cause the hotel has a indoor pool and hottub

 

Got my reload for Monday picking up at a soft drink company in Columbus. I don't deliver till 0800 240 miles away. Hope this doesn't matter

 

I was through there yesterday and saw the same thing, must be the time of the month they need some extra money!

My last time through there I remember thinking about how many trucks were cruising out in the 3rd lane. Not just a quick pass but camped out there....

Snarky isn't a good idea right now, I'm in one of the most horrific moods of my career after the weeks I've been having lately.

a case of Red Bull or Extra Strength 5 hr energy helps. When I was in there he played a lot of videos (like most company orientation do), on the road test, make sure your engine brake is off. I talked to one driver who almost failed because they thought he couldn't shift. Turns out, the test truck had the jake on, and these trucks are fairly quiet inside, so it was dropping the rpm's faster than normal. Once they turned off the jake, he shifted like a pro. Also, don't forget your Social Security card and if you recently renewed your Hazmat to qualify for Magnum, bring the receipt for the background check.

Went out and around today, I-88 east bound had about a dozen trucks pulled over, even some in the 2-lane section. Only saw 1 trooper sitting west bound waiting on a victim...made me a teenie bit nervous because I have 2 diamond shaped bullseyes on every side of my trailer, one red and white and the other black and white. Yup, hauling my 1st hazmat load for Magnum. Only took 14.5 months.
