Yes, I'm learning about that. Talked to a driver on the phone. Discussed a bunch.
I still am considering over the road. Also interested in LTL. Left a message with a recruiter.
Either way. I have time here. Don't finish school till Dec. 20th.
I'm liking what I'm hearing on Magnum. Yes, even for LTD.
I'm free to do what I want. Just need to pay my bills.
Over the road is sounding like an adventure right now. Even if it's not for many years. Might be nice to do that for a while.
At least I know I'm not going to get shafted by Magnum. Integrity is important to me.

Yea, @supersnackbar is right
We don't know too much about the LTL side. They have terminals in SD, MT, IA, NE, ND and MN
This is their service map... the stars are the terminals.
Magnum is one company called
Magnum Companies
Then there is
Magnum LTD (truckload)
Magnum LTL
Magnum Logistics
Magnum Warehousing
Magnum Dedicated
They are all under the Magnum Companies umbrella
Good luck with your decision. I have no idea about the pay, routes etc for LTL.WesternPlains Thanks this. -

Well, I'm one of those guys that if ya don't hear from me for awhile, that's a good thing! Had an 0230 appt at McLane's Atlanta and was running way early so opted to take 8hr break at Cartersville. They had me in and out within an hour! Maybe cuz of the holiday but there were few trucks there to get unloaded. Headed to Murrayville for a 1600, got here at 0700 and they've got me in a door now. Don't deliver to Denver til Thursday morning so the Ameristar at KC or St Louis might be calling my name. Thanks to ncmikey for some good info and trip planning advice! Yes, I've hit some speed bumps and got off to a shaky start with some weird appt's and a breakdown but so far so good! Ummm, tbh, gooder than good. The biggest challenges I'm going to have is getting used to a 2-week payday and not carrying so much crap on the truck. I was kind of worried coming in topped out on the new-hire pay chart...so many companies will have you run fewer miles it seems. Then I realized that with performance based pay, time doesn't mean a thing. Productivity is what is rewarded with what truly seems to be a very attainable goal. Thanks to everyone for their input and advice/info. It's appreciated!!

I used Uber while in Las Vegas for a military Reunion in June. After that experience, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again wherever I can find them if I need to Uber ran about half of what taxi's were charging at the time. It's a good deal! If you don't have the app, download and mess around with it. I really liked knowing in advance what my trip would cost me and got anywhere in Vegas for no more than $15.

Got up to Coon Rapids yesterday at noontime. Getting a unneeded reset. Dispatch had said to deliver Monday at 0500. Load Offer said deliver Tuesday at 0500. Chad told me to follow the load offer....
I decieded to come over and stage at my delivery in Brooklyn Center so I would be first in line. The guy here gave me his cellphone sometime in the past. I gave him a call to see if it was ok the break seal and back into the door. Well, turns out I was suppose to be here Monday at 0500... he was cool and said to back it in and he would be here in the AM... he isn't very happy with dispatch though....
Load offer clearly says Tuesday at 0500
Oh well
Reloading at 1000 at Newport Cold Storage going to Aberdeen MD....
