Tony gave me a brand new hat last year, and a Magnum all-in-one pocket tool (pliars, knife, etc.).

And my terminal manager at Crete handed me cash to go to lunch with a new hire once. Said all she wanted was for us to have a good lunch and bring her the receipt.

The Peoplenet system does not include a driver facing camera, they do have side spot camera's that we are not implementing at this time, and there is no voice recording - if you go to the Peoplenet site you can see examples of what we're using, or of course attend the presentation.

Definitely interested in what the coaching parameters will be as this will have the most direct impact on the driver. I'll hold my final opinion until they let us know just how much help they plan to give us.

I hope that mic is muted....I don't want to catch an harressment charge or have somebody ear hustlin and they here something nasty or me talking bad about somebody behind their face. Gonna go to the presentation because I need answers.

Well there is no mic so....

Here's an older article about the system and a reason why driver facing cameras are not included

Why fuller truck view trumps driver-facing cam for PeopleNet video

There's a small truck stop at Truxton, just before Bethlehem on 78. They do charge to park but Chris's Diner across the way is excellent. And there's a CVS or Riteaid next to it as well.

I'll be there Thursday night and hope to catch one Friday. Not sure how long it'll last but would be great if they could do a presentation at the bbq...catch alot of drivers at the same time. Interstate started putting them in before they were acquired by Heartland...as far as I know, Heartland will not be using them. Insurance will make it expensive not to use them in a few years. It's coming...one way or another.

LMAO! How about a 5 mile run with full gear? Or a covered foxhole? I was thinking about asking Tony if they needed helping guarding the beer kegs around the gold course...you know, making sure they're not empty and other quality-control measures. Anything to help, right?

As mentioned, they could do better than an in person power point presentation. If that's all they will do, I won't be seeing it. Some drivers rarely get through Fargo, and when they do it isn't always during business hours or convenient to go by the corporate office. A video or web presentation we can view on the road when convenient would be best in my opinion.

My biggest deal breaker with a company has always been driver facing cameras. An outward facing camera itself I'm actually ok with. I've been running my own since coming here. What I'm going to bite my tongue about on here for now is the "driver coaching" that's coming with this camera.

This year it's a t-shirt and the chance to win a hat.
