Totally makes sense man. I should have specified that Im working with rough numbers or estimates. I know I'm new, there will be break downs, traffic, and tons of other variables that one cant plan on, plus winter is coming, or already here in northern areas.
My higheat priority is making as much money as I can, safely, due to financial goals such as paying off my tuition. My second would be home time, which can take a back seat to money. More money means I can take advantage of resets in certain areas worth seeing or doing stuff in.
I figure I'm lucky on the home time aspect since I have no kids, and no significant other. I literally just wanna see $$$. Well, that and mountains, large cities, and starry skies, and ad many states as possible.

I live in Tennessee, Clarksville, and Tony made an arrangement with me concerning home time. I don't expect to be thru Clarksvile every month and when I can on loads to GA, for example, I try to get a reset while picking up mail other things. I take time off on the road, where I want, when I want. Don't give up your home 20 because you'll need an address somewhere. For maintenance, either at Fargo or CR, I plan on a reset and one or two nights in a motel. The key is taking some "me" time, out of the truck, every so often. Stay on the thread and learn...these guys that have been at Magnum awhile know what they're talking about!!
Zata, with you all the way on your advice! I'll try and copy and paste my reply to your other post when I can. I gotta learn some new technology!Winnyf1, WesternPlains and Ray Strack Thank this. -

I am still not understanding this performance pay...so y’all saying stay out from home and run yourself ragged in order to get better pay??? Ok figured one thing out....my truck wasn’t measuring mpg for two of the months....guess that’s why the cut....
FYI:I’ve always hated math I guess that’s why I have a beef with it. I guess when you drive all day you think about stuff and it simmers like a big pot of beef stewLast edited: Nov 16, 2017

If your plan is to take your home time and then run as much as you can during your non-home-time days, then your pay will most definitely fluctuate unpredictably. If you instead take your home time after you've got the numbers you want, you can pretty much choose your pay, and in some cases you'll be able to take more home time.
I'll choose a number in the middle of the pack. If you get max points everywhere else, and shoot for 10000 miles a month, that'll give you .44 cpm. Or $4400 a month, or $52,800 a year.
So my goal would be 10,000 miles a month for 4 months, totaling 40,000 miles. So how many miles do I need to drive every day during the trimester? It's 4 months, so about 120 days. To drive 40000 miles in 120 days, you need to average 333 miles per day.
Today is Nov 16th. It's the 16th day of the trimester. 16x333=5328. So by the time you park your truck for the night tonight, you should have at least 5328 miles under your belt this month to be on schedule for 40000 miles to earn .44 cpm. I literally have a small calculator attached to my dash with Velcro to do this math. I also hate math! Lol
So if you have more miles than that, you can start taking home time. If you have fewer miles than that, I would stay out longer until I'm ahead.
I'm gonna make a video on this. It is a lot of numbers. Once you see exactly where I'm pulling all these numbers from, you'll be like $$$$$.intrepidor, Lowlite, mattbh23 and 1 other person Thank this.
