Lmao! I told ya, he's gonna give you a run for your money! Personally, I set the cruise at 62 and don't feel annoyed all that much til I run up on someone doing 58 or 60 and right when I'm even with them, they realize they're going slow and hammer on it. Patience and trucking smart. Like Ray has posted, those numbers won't lie.

OAN, I've notice a .6 to .7mpg drop since my last service. I'm guessing it's due to using more of the winter blend the last few weeks? My truck also coughs sometimes (1553) where I momentarily lose acceleration, just a second but still.. is this normal on these PACCAR motors? And do the MPG targets change with the summer then winter blends of fuel? Thanks!

A few more mph would help with that & would help prevent people from getting there bonus taken away. At least 65

You would think, but that isn't how it works. Last company, I had a 68 mph truck, and this company I have a 70 mph truck...you just end up doing the same thing to faster trucks....of course, then the trucks I use to be able to pass quickly (Crete, Schneider, Prime, etc.) turned their trucks up so now I drag past them anyway.

. Yea that is my main concern as well. I still get up close, haven’t got a call yet (knock on wood) when they call my response will be, “turn the muthaf***ing speed up and hang up and go about my business. Can’t get mad at me for something y'all refuse to do #ijs. (Won’t really do that just for the record)

I have a long way to go before I'll give zata a run for his money. Just did a red eye out of st paul to Indiana, 530 miles roughly with a little over 2 hours left on the drive clock.

Its days like today that makes me want an automatic. Im about 50/50 on grabbing the low end gears when under 10 mph on a downshift coming through those toll booths. Frustrates me something fierce.

Those tolls both can be a PITA, you’ll master it though. Just take your time. I remember when I was training and I would take a student through the New Hampshire toll booths, the ez pass lane is 25 mph through a narrow lane....I would be super Trucker and line up and do 25 right through...my student was not that brave he slowed down to 5 or 10 mph through a 25 mph ez pass lane....you’ll get it though be safe out there.

My 2015 truck would "cough" like you're describing. I never had it looked at cause it never was a major problem. And yes, the winter blend fuel will drop your mpg by .5 or so, and the targets are based on the fleet average for the year model/transmission, so yes, they will drop as well.

Well ended up getting a brokered load coming out of Florida, that picked up in Adel, GA and had to run that up to Grand Forks...had to preload a trailer and run that back to the Glass house and getting a pm done then headed over to Jamestown then over to Coon Rapids. Then p.u. In Eagan and go to Ohio then home for a few days.

True but if all them mega companies are listening to the drivers & at least putting the trucks at 65. Magnum could. It's going to create a headache. Especially going across 80 between chicago & PA where I ran a lot with them.

Other drivers tend to give a little patience behind you to pass if your running a decent speed in the hammer lane lol
