    Where is the truck??

Don’t race. Concentrate on the step your in. Break your trip down into less stressful time frames. Like, 1) get truck 2) go to Campbell’s 3) hook trailer and pretrip 2) drive to Coke etc etc...One step at a time. Don’t get ahead of yourself. That’s when mistakes happen.
When you pick the truck up, have your trainer fill it up with fuel and DEF. That will get ya to CR.
You can do this. Just be calm. Think every action through. Don’t rush!!
There are PLENTY of easy parking between Coke in Columbus and CR. You can’t do all that in one day anyways... so just calm down and enjoy the ride!

You can park at those scales just north of South Beloit in Wisconsin. Never crowded and easy on and off... but most of the rest areas in Wisconson are super nice also.

Think about going I70 to Indy then I74 up to Bloomington Illinois and then get 39 up to 90/94. That only adds 40 miles but gives you a wide berth around Chicago. Usually doesn’t add much extra time.

Thanks NC. Ive already been scouting the places with google earth. Didnt mean to say it was a literal race, but I cant be a sloth about it. We have another load once i get to CR that takes us close to a second recovery I gotta do.

The truck is at Allstate peterbilt of findlay, OH.

I recovered a truck once at Bakersfield CA Freightliner. Opened the door and there was a month old pizza on the bunk. Nasty.

I hope yours is in better shape.

Last truck I recovered it took a shovel and a dumpster to clean out all the empty to-go boxes and trash. But it was at Prime, not Magnum. It almost looked like the guy emptied his house's trash can in the truck before he called Prime to tell them where they could shove their truck and his job (and probably his career, since it was an abandonment)...I think Magnum has a much higher quality of driver than Prime, so you should be better off, but since it is at a dealer, I would venture a guess that it was emptied in haste and hasn't been detailed.

Ray, during my second week they had me recover a truck from Waddie Ky. load in Louisville, Ky and run it to Eagan, Mn. I was VERY apprehensive and if I had any issues I was on the phone with my trainer. Made the run with no issues, planned it out and all was well. Recovered the second truck during my last week and never got back in the trainer truck. You got this!

Dang, seems like a lot of recovery going on...are that many trucks breaking down and being left at dealers? Or are some of these being abandoned by pissed off drivers or drivers having some sort of medical issue that prevents them from returning them to a terminal?

SSB, the first truck I recovered (1508) was from a ticked off driver (what I was told was Jody had his girl and was gone!). The second truck (1656-which is now captain’d by an exemplary employee!) was left in Tuttle, Ok. I spoke with the driver and he told me that he wasn’t getting any miles (had been with company for a month and the truck had only been issued to him- it had over 12k miles on it). His wife showed up with him to hand over the keys and fuel card with their 5 children in tow......I’m sure we can all figure this one out pretty quick (Momma won’t happy)!

Okay, everything is planned. Depending on time and where im at, and time wise, ill probably stop at pilot exit 240 off i65. Plan is to get up early and get around chicago before traffic. I can make it to CR from there in one shift. If I can make it through chicago before stopping thats a plus but traffic with the holidays will be something to keep an eye on.
