Does setting the cruise at 1200 rpm stop the idle timer?

It will time out IF it’s above 40 and below 80 degrees, other than that, I have not a clue!

I only ask because i idled the truck this morning to warm up. Was told you dont want oil psi to go over 80. Temp on dash said low 40s but she idled at 1200 without cutting out like she normally would. Not sure if thats enough to trick the timer? Hopefully someone knows for sure, if not, I might have to find out tomorrow morning.

    Xeres63 Thanks this.

Not sure who told you not to go over 80 psi oil pressure. Many engines have high oil pressure when they're cold. My old International Maxxfarce would push 100 for the 1st 5-10 minutes, and my old Macks of yesteryear would top 80, and those Mack engines were almost indestructible.

Not if you are inside the 40-80 range, unless your truck doesn’t have an idle timer.

    Ray Strack Thanks this.
