The way google maps recommend is 81-66-495(around DC)-95-295. That'll mean the Baltimore tunnel, the JFK bridge, and the DE tpk. (Memorial bridge is free going into the 'certain ethnic amusement park', a.k.a. NJ). Not sure if that way would be cheaper than Carlisle to Philly via the PA pike.

Hey all, Magnum alumni here with my advice on brokered loads (backhauls).
    1. You are not required to give your personal #, so don't.
    2. You'll rarely get ANY CHR representative to respond in a timely manner, so stop trying.
    3. Deliver your load on time and be done w/ it.
    4. Proceed to next load.

Go I-10 to I-65 to I-85 to I-95 to Jersey Turnpike. It's all of 12 miles longer, but it's nice and flat. Better drive, better fuel mileage.

Shipper will load early, and you might be able to reschedule the cosignee early for Monday. Get a t-check for the tolls, it's going to run you about $150 to $200 to get in and out of the area.

You could go 81 to 78 to 287 then you only pay the NJ turnpike tolls headed south to your delivery.... Definitely a few more miles... But way cheaper out of pocket

I had thought about that route as well. Still trying to decide if I want to stay in Bordentown and pay for a shower or Carney's Point and get a freebie.

Msg'd Matt about all the extra time on the load, asked if we could get an earlier appt or maybe some layover pay if they can't(even said please), he said he'd work on it.

Btw, this shipper is requiring us to precool down to -20 before we back into the dock, even if we have a 30 degree load. Magnum driver in front of me had to wait in front of their dock, and now a Martin is having to do the same. I get to sit in the lot while they load them while my unit is chillin' out.

I'll be glad to get to Fargo and get my transponders. Will make life much more enjoyable.

The 81-78-287 is an extra 30 miles. How far out of route do they allow before getting grumpy?

    ncmickey Thanks this.

Joey came through with a CH Robinson load with 2 pick ups and 2 deliveries.
Finals in Detroit Lakes MN on Monday... So hopefully I'll get to Fargo to get my transponder....
