hope things pick up for you, but we are in a slow freight season/ holidays etc. Magnum is great about not micromanaging their drivers. Not having to fuel when told, take a route long as it's within reason etc. Their are plenty of companies out there that will hold ya hand and stay on the phone with you.
But long as I know where to pick up and where to delivery I don't need contact from anybody. Unless something is wrong

Hey I'm sorry to hear things are starting off slowly for you, I have been there too and know how frustrating it can be. One suggestion, call either Chad or Paul and talk things over to see if something can be done, it certainly helped me.

We are having growing pains and because each person has their own needs after your talk you will have to decide if Magnum is the right fit for you - keep in mind that even if it's not today it may be in the near future. I can say that unlike many other companies both in and out of trucking the management team here is willing to speak with you about your concerns.

Good luck however this works out.

December was my 1st full month here as well, and it was rough to stay busy, but that is the holiday season. I adapted, and even though it didn't seem like it, ended up being fairly productive compared to many other Decembers I've had in years past. I have now joined the 'happier' drivers club here. Hang in there, it will smooth out. Remember, the first few months, the folks in the office are going through a learning process with you as well. Until they get to know you, and how you like to run, they probably don't put a lot of pressure on you with tight time frame loads. At least that is the advice I was given by some of the Magnum gang on here. If all else fails, pressure them for layover on the really screwed up loads. It has gotten so I don't even have to ask, layover is already approved before I get the load info.

BTW, have you reminded them (politely) that you haven't been thru the house yet as promised?

Also, give it a couple of months to learn the freight patterns and Magnum's steady customers. Once you figure that out, you can start taking the loads that put you in position to get the next good load. Or by the house, if that's your preference.

Have you talked to Paul about your issues? He's the driver liason, or so I've been told.
