Verizon only has grandfathered unlimited data and reworked it so now it is only going to apply to the current phone to weed those out. We just switched to Sprint for that reason.

It really is! I can't even fathom how an industry would accept something like that. I mean, that's the same principle as trying to charge the UPS driver for a package that I ordered. It is literally "hey we are in the business of shipping and recieving, but instead of having employees that we pay to unload the #### we order, we are going to have someone else come in and charge the people bringing us our #### that we wanted in the first place!

As long as you buy a phone at retail price, you stay unlimited. I haven't had a contract for 5 or 6 years.

I bought an unlimited data plan off ebay. Had read where you couldn't get an UDP unless you already had one, but I was able to assume this UDP & pay ~$60/month for the data only. Expensive up front but worth it!

You do realize it is the shipper that ultimately pays the lumper fee.

With all the offers for lumper t-checks that I never use, I wonder if we don't make a small profit on lumpers.

As for the previous poster: If you're a small warehouse with limited staff you can make everyone wait for x hours or hire lumpers. I think it's probably cheaper to hire out lumpers and pay it out as an expense than to hire employees who will be sitting on their butts 50% of the time. Oh, wait, I just described lumpers!

Yes I do, but it is still bs. Imagine anywhere else where you charge a business for a service that you requested. Imagine charging the pizza bit for not delivering the pizza you ordered to your counter and then serving you. Imagine charging a grocery store (who uses lumpers) to move their product from their shelves to your pantry. Anything else really. As for the trucking industry even, imagine a receiver charging a flatbedder to unload the pipe they ordered. The flatbedder is going to do whatever it takes to get that load off and move on to the next one. You just don't run a business and charge your supplier for a delivery that you requested because you don't want to hire the manpower necessary to run your business.
