All is good on pickup. I must say for a food distributor this Greensburg location was great. Check in at 0530 had a door at 0600 and was empty at 0800. People there were very nice. My appt was 0900

I don't know, lumpers need jobs too and hey it's not our money so I'd rather someone else unloads my truck, it's why I don't drive for DOT...

My problem is with the security guards at the grocery warehouses - to many of them believe they are real cops and have way to much attitude. The crew at Meijer this morning are amongst the biggest group of morons I've seen in some time.

The thing is, the shippers and receivers agreed to this form of business a long time ago. Does it make sense?

The shipper agreed to have the items Delivered to the receivers warehouse, sorted and stacked to the receivers demands... so it is upon the shipper to provide the labor to unload, sort and stack the delivered items. Now the question I have not been able to get an answer to is why is the truck driver the middleman? Only thing I have thought of, is trucking companies saw a chance to take a cut if they got involved. So like so many things, follow the money. Therefor we the truck driver get to deal with the lumper service.

During the holidays and lately I haven't... Between hometime and a reset here and there I haven't needed to...
But I have run reset hrs many times....sometimes for a couple weeks in a row before hometime or a reset....

I just got off 4-5 days of recaps. Could have kept pushing it but took a load that let me reset. It's easy to keep running in the summer if you want to.

Try to run recaps as often as the freight allows... I hate resets!

I hate lumpers but T Checks aren't terrible. Just annoying and I haven't had an issue with getting them in time. I'm sure it's a PITA if you have to call after hours and get one. But yeah, it should be figured in with the freight. It's kind of stupid.

I'm just the opposite. I prefer to run my hours out and bank the miles as quickly as I can. The only time I don't like to do a reset is if freight is slow and I haven't turned many miles.

I have had a reset every weekend since I started, whether I needed one or not.

When I was with one of 'the other companies', when they signed the paperwork setting the rates and etc., there was always an agreed price if lumpers were required. Some paid it whether one was needed or not, while others had a maximum they would authorize for unloading.

Nice little truck stop 1.5 miles from PPG in Lima. Not really a truck stop but truck parking and non chain pizza joint next door. Same exit.
