Got charged a $4 "convenience fee" on top of the regular inflated price for lumpers last week.

This is crazy business, that's for sure.

 

Does this company still hire new drivers? I just found out about the company today and also I saw the map on a post over a year ago and it appears the company runs in Ohio where I am. Does the company hire out of Ohio?

Has anything changed in regards to training or any major company policy changes?

 

Guys let it go really, it doesn't impact us, they're in it to make a profit like any other business and they don't want to pay the transaction cost so they have started passing it on in several places.

And hey if dispatch forgets to get you a lumper and you call a few times at 3am to wake them, it sort of has a way of not happening again.

Lately I have noticed a lot more prepaid loads where I previously had to use a paid lumper so more shippers may be setting a flat fee in advance. I was using T-Checks twice a week for awhile, now it seems like I only use them every other week at most.

 

Yes we hire recent CDL grads and for the most current info call recruiting because the bonuses change front time to time. I believe we hire out of Ohio, just depends on where you live, certainly have plenty of freight there.

 

Sitting in Napoleon tonite waiting out the storm, everyone be safe out there - supposedly I80 in Ohio will be bad tonight.

 

Exit 20 off of I-275 there is a small truckstop. Corner of Haggerty and ???? They have a CAT Scale there too.

 

Made my delivery in Waukegan Il and then headed south to get near my pick up... Chicago was an absolute mess... Horrible traffic and snowing like crazy... Not fun with an empty trailer. Every time I had to brake that sucker wanted to come around on me.
I was going to go the my favorite place... The Greater Chicago 55.... The roads were so messed up that I just decieded to come out to Aurora to the shipper and hope no one runs me off...
Fingers crossed....

 

I wonder if they'd get p/o'd if you would deduct a $10/hour inconvenience fee from their charges if they delay you longer than they should.

 

Good luck, Chicago always sucks in the snow, it's like they've never seen the stuff before. Stay safe, with this weather I'd hope nobody would bother you...
