Anyone ever have a problem with their low voltage cutoff on these 579's? I was nukeing some food, with the apu running, and the low voltage alarm for the truck went off. 30 seconds later all the power other than the stuff hooked to the inverter shut down. A quick cycle of the key, and it all came back on like normal. The other day, after driving a couple hours, when I shut down, with nothing else running, it went off again, but the apu fired up, and it quit beeping. I looked in the battery box, and I don't see any loose cables, so I think it's just the shutdown itself that is having issues.

Mine does that if I have the tv (32 inch) and microwave (normal kitchen sized) going at the same time. I just idle for the couple minutes that I'm nuking something.

Honestly, they're all pretty much the same, and you're going to pull them all eventually.xlsdraw Thanks this. -
I just find it funny that it was assigned to me and in my logs. Got a message to make sure my logs were updated with the correct trailer a few days ago then assign it out when I'm sitting for a day? I really don't care what I pull. Carrier really doesn't bother me or a 14. The whole situation was annoying. I'll never not put my load locks back in their rack again.

I guess I will always have a empty I can pickup. The carriers don't bother me at all.
tallinthesaddle4life and Ordy19 Thank this. -

Mine does it to. I just turn the key to on and then back to ACC as fast as I can. It won't turn off the APU and stops it from cutting off the power...
These trucks are ripe with electrical problems....Ordy19 Thanks this. -
Glad its not something unique to my truck then. I won't worry about it as long as it keeps moving w/o breaking down costing me productivity.
Woke up in Menomonie, 8 degrees, after my shower, 3 degrees...the Canadian freezer door has been opened. -
I have lights that turn on by themselves in the cab, that low voltage warning, a fuel gage that bounces all over when it's between 7/8 and 1/2 tank... Then it settles down, various check engine codes that come and go, I even had it derate one morning while it was warming up. All kinds of bells, lights and warning... I turned it off, started it again and they all disappeared... It also drinks coolant. Never a leak, never see or smell it, but every week I have to add more....
When I discussed this with Andy at the CR shop, he said my problems were common. He said he is loosing faith in Peterbilts.
None are worth loosing running time.... Till it breaks.... Just minor nuisances....
