Heading to OR on Monday. Change of scenery will be nice.

I need to grab some chains in Fargo but with my schedule I'll be pulling through there around 22:00. I guess I'll call in the morning and ask them to set some out for me before they go home.

As I said, everybody's situation is different. I just told you what I pay for insurance. And yes it is just me my wife has insurance on her job. She works for the county and ensuring me would be more expensive than through Magnum.
As far as the miles, that's why it's important for you to wait six months before you make a judgment. I didn't say I drive 10,000 miles every month. I say I averaged 10,000 a month. I've had months of 12,000 and months at 9000 or 8000 depending on home the time.
But I'm a Glass half-full kind a guy. I'm usually looking at the bright spots not the negative. We're all different

If I could blame this low of a month on home time then I would, but 9000 miles being available 31 days is inexcusable. The last time I had a January like this was right before the worst of the great recession, which kinda worries me.

I am not glass half empty/full person... I'm a 'who drank out of my glass?' person. :D

That's the thing with truck drivers... Seems like they are either telling more tall tales than a science fiction writers convention or whining and complaining more than a sac full of #######!! Lol

SSB, even in dry van, I'm going to have a sub-10k January. My 1st month under 11k. I averaged almost 12k September - December. I think it really is a wide spread poor start to 2016.

Maybe that is why I stopped seeing ads from your company for drivers in my area, and I am kicking myself for writing them off so quickly. May have to give them another look in the spring. Normally I see a 10k minimum in Jan, but like I said, the last time was when we went into a deep recession, and I'm not trucking thru another one of those if it's that deep. File bankruptcy, work at McD's or stock shelves at Wally....

Be sitting at just under 11,000 miles on the 27th and that's with a couple of days home, two 34s in various places, and just generally not running very hard. This load has two days on it, for instance. 11hrs 50 min drive time. What are ya gonna do? But somehow, the miles pile up. Stick with it, ssb.

Insurance, well, that's always going to be a screwed up deal, not Magnum's fault there. The company does kick in quite a bit for their share too. Be glad we have the full range of benefits available, along with a 401k..

34's you say...I have taken one every weekend since I started except 1(whether I needed one or not)...

As for the insurance rates, at my 2 most recent companies (both were larger) I had similar coverage at Crete for almost half the employee cost. At Poly I had a 0 deductible plan, just 20% co-pay for just a few bucks more than Crete's, but I heard they were very limiting on how much you could turn a claim in for without a fight.

401k... I'll never be able to afford contributing working here...life insurance is my retirement plan.
