Met a driver today who drives for JCT, he's doing their lease. I asked him how things were going, said he's making like $20K per month gross, I said cool how are you making out, and he said he's just getting by. Oh I say, what are your truck costs, he says I don't really know I just drive the truck.

Sort of sad how some drivers just get taken by the urge to move into a nice shiny new truck...

Ran into some severe wind in Livingston, MT last night. Better than a cup of coffee.

 

20k a month he has to be a super trucker they pay 90 cents a mile. And a current fuel surcharge of 12 cents

 

Did they end up taking your load a day early?

 

Got a load today after my 2nd drop. 479 miles to Columbus, OH. I look at my clock and I've got 6 hours, 25 mins. Load delivers at 830 AM tommorow. Called dispatch and said that unless there's a teleporter they didn't tell me about, it's not going to happen. Just not physically possible. Jeremy was really cool about it. I made 378 miles, parked in the lot of a home improvement place in south east Ohio with TWO minutes left on my clock. Figure I'll make it about 10AM, which I was assured would be fine.

Hopefully I don't have someone knocking at my window at 6am telling me to leave

 

Picked up a preloaded trailer in Wahpeton this after noon. Good thing i decided to use another scale after I weighed on theirs. Theirs showed I was legal. CAT scale said I was 2k pounds heavier and most of it was on the trailerwl which was over axle weight. Somehow it was loaded well just right to where I am at 33820 on the trailer with it exactly at 41' for bridge law.

 

As if things weren't screwed up enough in my world...the receiver in Aurora took me down to 1 hour on my 14. Last time I was there, they got me in and out in a reasonable amount of time, not this time. I found out why, 4 cases of damaged product refused. So now instead of getting to the truckstop, getting a washout, going to bed and getting an early start on my load to Moorhead...I have to wait until they contact the customer in the morning to find out if they just want us to toss this stuff, then washout and off to beer-land to pu. Then, as I was nuking supper, I was hooking my phone up to my tv so I could give my mind something entertaining to concentrate on while I eat, the phone locks up (and has a non-removable battery). It took me over an hour before I got it to restart...so much for winding down so I could sleep. However, if...and that is a big IF, I get to the delivery by 1500 on Friday, it will put me just over 10k for the month. But still no word from Nick about my next loads heading me home, but they were short handed today, so hopefully tomorrow.
